Yesterday, Rose had her six month check-up. The report from Dr. Gopal: "She is doing just great!"
Here are her stats:
Weight: 14 pounds, 9 ounces
Height: 27 inches
Rose is in the 23% for weight and 89% for height. Long and lean, for now.
She also got a round of vaccines. Three shots in her thighs and an oral dose. The shots resulted in immediate screaming (more mad than anything else), but as usual Rose was easily comforted. The tears stopped as soon as she got a good cuddle. She had a long nap when we got home and a good sleep after her nighttime routine (a little rice cereal, a bath, PJs, nursing and bed). She was a bit fussy and warm this morning, but hopefully she is feeling better as the day goes on.
Rose continues to enjoy day care. When I arrive at the end of the day to pick her up, she is usually sitting up playing with toys, other babies or one of the teachers and always has a big smile for me. Earlier this week, when I arrived she was in the process of rolling across the room. This was a first for me, but her teacher didn't appear surprised at all. It seems Rose has figured out that rolling can be used as a form of locomotion. Hold on to your hats!
