First Open House

Last night Trevor and I attended Rose's first open house. Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Roger showed up too, to check things out and support their granddaughter. I was the first to arrive. When I walked in the door, I saw a room full of little naked diapered babies playing around a tub of bubbles. I had a moment of panic, wondering if I would be able to successfully identify my baby amongst all the wet, slippery chubbiness. And thinking what a bad mom I would be if I couldn't. But there she was.

She was the littlest one at the tub, but seemed happy to be invited to the party. She didn't mind being doused with water as the older babies splashed and swung bubbles around. In fact, she seemed pretty fascinated with their craziness. Luckily, the bubbles were edible!

After the open house, Rose got to spend the evening with Grandma and Grandpa so her parents could attend a concert. From Grandma's report, it sounds like everyone had a great time. They went to the park, and the ice cream parlor, and ate a feast of rice cereal. And lucky for me, Rose slept until 3am before waking up to eat again!!

This morning Rose tried out a new hand-me-down outfit. Papa wasn't very impressed that I'd dressed his daughter like a monk. And the daycare teachers have Rose pinned as a Trekkie already!!
